For Parents
Your kid deserves a place
that actually gets them.
We've been training kids in Cookeville since 2007. Here's what parents actually ask us, honestly answered — plus what a kids class looks like from drop-off to pickup.
The Real Questions
Everything parents ask us.
Answered without spin.
"My kid is really shy."
Most of our best students started shy. Our coaches are trained to meet quiet kids where they are — no yelling, no forced participation. Within a few weeks, you'll see a different kid walk out of class.
"Will it make them more aggressive?"
Opposite. Real martial arts schools teach kids how to de-escalate and only use their skills defensively. We talk about this constantly. Our students are known for being respectful, not for fighting.
"What if they don't like it?"
Try 3 classes for $30. If they love it, great. If they don't, full refund after class 1, no questions. We'd rather send a kid home happy than guilt a family into a membership.
"Is my kid too young or too old?"
We take kids starting at age 5. Ages 5–6 and 7–12 train in age-matched classes so your kid is with peers of similar size and ability. Teens 13+ jump into adult programs.
"Will it help with school?"
Parents regularly tell us their kid's teachers notice within a month. The focus muscle built here shows up in the classroom, at homework, and at home.
"How do you keep it safe?"
New students drill for weeks before any contact. Every class is coach-supervised end to end. Injuries are rare and minor. We train to be good at this for 30 years, not 30 days.
What a Kids Class Looks Like
From drop-off
to high-fives home.
- 1Class starts with a warm-up and mobility — coaches make it fun, not drudgery.
- 2Technique of the day: a specific skill kids drill with a partner the coach chose for them.
- 3Games that sneak in real martial arts skills (balance, timing, awareness).
- 4Structured end-of-class: mat salute, breathing, reflection — kids leave centered.
Parents are welcome to watch. Most do, at least for the first class. We designed the space so you have a clear view of everything.
Our promise to every kid who steps on our mat.
- ✓No bullying, ever.Zero tolerance. Coaches enforce it, students enforce it. We don't tolerate cruel behavior on our mats, period.
- ✓Every kid gets coached. Not ignored, not over-coached. Real attention every class.
- ✓We meet shy kids quietly. No shame for being nervous. We've done this thousands of times.
- ✓We encourage them to try, not to "win." Effort is the bar. Every single class.
Try it risk-free.
Watch them grow.
